Sauza Cantina - US Cellular Field Mexican Favorites

As many White Sox fans likely know, the the concession stand formerly known as the Coach's Cantina  (concourse near left-centerfield) is now the Sauza Cantina. That news is two seasons old. A SG reader has posed a question - what Mexican favorites are offered there?

The White Sox website has a great answer: SAUZA CANTINA Section 164 - Frozen margaritas, fajitas and other Mexican favorites.

Sportservice is usually more helpful (you know I love those guys) but I still have not heard back from them. Any readers out there who can help while I wait?

Nashville Sounds Connected to New York?

The Nashville Sounds baseball team has been sold to MFP Real Estate, a New York-based real estate holding company.

The new owners will take over operations of the Triple AAA ball club prior to the 2009 season, if both Major League and Minor League Baseball approve the sale. The group said in a statement that approval could come as soon as December, during baseball’s annual winter meetings.

The announcement of the deal confirms speculation the team would be sold after the Nashville Sounds Baseball Club and its general partner, Amerisports Companies, failed to reach agreement with Metro Government on a number of issues, including the lease and upgrades to Greer Stadium and plans to build a new stadium downtown.

The Sounds are the triple-A Brewers. More info when I get it.

Phillies v Rays Question

here's what I'm wondering while I watch this game... is the whole foods 365 brand shells and white cheddar (box) saltier than it used to be? they've had that new packaging for awhile but I can't remember if I'd had any since the change. I know the half-vanilla-half-chocolate faux oreos they make completely changed when the box changed...for the worse. I truly hope that has not happened with this mac and cheese too. next they'll change the frozen vegetables and I'll never shop there again. oh yeah, world series. nice little play by Utley to end the top of the 7th.

The Rain in Philly Stays Mainly on the Field

For the first time in Major League Baseball history, a World Series game has been suspended. Rain halted Game 5 of the Fall Classic in the bottom of the sixth inning on Monday night when the field at Citizens Bank Park was deemed unplayable.

The tarpaulin was pulled across the infield at 10:40 p.m. ET, with the Phillies and Rays tied, 2-2. There is no set time when it is expected to be removed. That is a matter that only Mother Nature can answer -- not the Phillies, the Rays or even the office of the Commissioner.

Man v Nature. I love it. Baseball in November. I hate it.

Kona Brewing Co: Aloha and Hipahipa from Oakland

  wow. the Kona Brewing Co is actually Hawaiian. I guess that state of islands is too far from the east coast to seem accessible to me. but they're not so far from CA, which is why you can find their beers at McAfee. I need to do some thinking here but the movers are coming in two hours and my apartment looks like a tornado hit so I need to stop procrastinating and get to it. in the meantime, who can tell me something about this beer?

Chargers Beer Funnel Guy

  I don't know why it surprised me to see a giant Chargers fan walking around the parking lot carrying a giant funnel, but it did. A good surprise, of course. Too bad it took me so long to get out my camera and get a shot.

Sports Soup!

Matt Iseman! where did you come from? how do I feel about your Sports Soup? I think I like it, and you look much more normal than you do on your website. 

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10p. "irreverent look at the state of sports and the people who play and report on them." 

since I've been watching E for more than thirty minutes I have seen that Puff Daddy vodka commerical a few times. what is the deal with that? why did he have to go outside by himself when everyone else is still inside at that fancy dining table where food was not served? was it an after party and you just want your guests to leave?

Guy Fieri - major Raiders fan

Have I told you about how good my life is sometimes? How spoiled I am? Last Sunday not only did I get to see that crazy 57-yard field goal live, but also I saw it from the suite where Guy Fieri and his family and friends were hanging out, making food, and watching the game. I believe Guy would call that "off the hook."

There were some GF pics on the Raiders site the other day but I can't find them now so here's one of my own (imagine Guy somewhere behind the photographer, me). The people in the suite to our right flipped out when they saw him. It was pretty funny. The man pretty much IS the Food Network these days (or at least every commercial I ever see), and he's a regular dude. And great friends.

Free Tacos from Taco Bell

Remember that Taco Bell promotion, the one about getting a Free Taco if someone stole a base? Well, it happened last night and the promo is nationwide. I've been trying to upload the picture and their confusing text for thirty minutes. Not sure what's going on with that. 

Anyway, go to Taco Bell between 2-6pm from now until October 28th and get a Free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco. That's got to be worth about 15-cents so run run run.
