Today is the day I come back to you with Yankee Stadium Food Prices, and a wicked cold or some other sort of sickness given the wet weather. If the Yankees knock me out how will I watch the Mets and UConn tomorrow? Oy the problems in my life.
Before we talk dollars, though, let's talk doughnuts (that's DONUTS, for the search engines). I love doughnuts. I don't know why. I think it's the hole. But I really only like so-called Old Fashioned, meaning those sort of cakey ones. But I only like the light, cakey ones. Sometimes you can get really good Apple Cider Doughnuts at farmer's markets (see above; union square NYC) and farm stands and apple places. Sometimes when you're getting on an airplane you can get less good ones from the Dunkin Donuts stand.
Side note: Dunkin Donuts is having a Create Dunkin's Next Donut Contest. It ends April 7th at 11:59pm. That's 4 days. You can make a donut online. Creating that link tempted me into creating one, which reminded me that I like Raised Donuts from Dunkin. Cherry Sugar! Weird. There's going to be a Bake-Off. Hey, that's "sports" to me. Someone will win $12,000.
Why are we talking about doughnuts? Oh, yes, because there's No Hot Tea at Citi Field. And there Never was Hot Tea at Shea. That's hard to believe, especially in miserable April and too cool September-October. And when you take doughnuts into the game, which I believe I've done once because we were driving down from upstate NY (land of Apple Cider Doughnuts).
Still with me? Come back later for Live Phone Blogging from the new Yankee Stadium.
