Tigers Home Opener Today; Chinese New Year Celebrations Tomorrow

Yesterday someone told me that Michigan has 80% unemployment - is that possible? No. But it is some 15%, which is the country's worst. That is scary. What does that mean for the Big Cat Food Court at Comerica Park - shorter lines? I'm serious. I have to think on this.

Tigers Spring Ticket Deal: $10 Mezzanine tickets, normally $15, are available for all home games in April (excluding Opening Day) and select games in May.

Anyway, it's the Tigers 110th season in Detroit and the 11th at their new ballpark. Gates open 10:30am.

Tomorrow (4/10) It's the Year of the Tiger Celebration. Gates open at 11:30am for the 1:05pm game v the Indians.
-Musical and dance performances will be held at various locations throughout the Comerica Park concourse beginning at 11:45am.
-In the ballpark there will be a lion dance, a drum and gong performance, a dragon dance, and a ribbon dance performance.
-A Chinese New Year parade will begin at the intersection of Adams Ave. and Witherell St. at 12:10am. The 400+ person parade will travel north before concluding at the Witherell St. and Montcalm St. intersection.
