What to Compost - The EPA IN List relevant to Yankee Stadium
(and, really, all Ballparks with Compost Bins)
Cardboard rolls
Clean paper
Coffee grounds and filters
Eggshells
Fruits and vegetables
Nut shells
Shredded newspaper
Tea bags (from the Bubble tea, I guess)
What Not to Compost - The EPA OUT List
Dairy products (e.g., butter, milk, sour cream, yogurt) and eggs
Fats, grease, lard, or oils
Meat or fish bones and scraps
Don't forget any biodegradable food packaging. Fiber based containers, PLA cups made from corn starch (which often have a green ring around them to identify them as compostable as opposed to being made from plastic), even compostable cutlery. Many vendors at these stadiums have started using these items, so be sure to get them into the compost.
