Daytona Bike Week Extra Hour of Drinking, Maybe

When Daylight Savings and Daytona Bike Week happen at the same time, the Daytona City Commission thinks about Dollars in the form of sales of alcoholic beverages. This Wednesday, the Commission will vote on whether or not local bars will be able to stay open until 4am on March 9th (that's an hour later than usual; loud music would be able to play until 3:45am).

No one in the community seems to mind...Mayor Glenn Ritchey says he hasn't had a single phone call from a complaining resident. He's even considering standardizing the Daylight Savings Time Extension instead of voting on it year after year.

That's good news for partying Bike Weekers. Give me a day or so and I'll have some bar recommendations up for you...and the Speedway Stuff

Tour de France

189 riders made their way from the Mall in London to the official start of the Tour de France at Greenwich.The race will then head off through Kent to finishing line in Canterbury.

Parisian sports newspaper L'Equipe has supposedly been dissing Britan's grey skies, bomb alerts and bad food. I have to get out my dictionary and have a look.

The race begins at 1100 BST from the meridian line in Greenwich.

Bike New York DUMBO pit stop
