Busch Stadium Waiter Service

Busch Stadium
Originally uploaded by standingpartnership

I love this picture. These seats look so spacious and luxurious.

Here's some Where and What You'll Find at Busch Stadium this year:

At Gate One look for the new Asian action cart, where you can make your own stir-fry with beef, chicken, veggies, rice or noodles. It's served in a take-out container. I love it.

Also new, the Fry action station where you can get seasoned fries in garlic-Parmesan, Cajun and chili-cheese. Roasted peanuts there too.

In the Red Bird Club look for eight flavors of creamy gelato, a cupcake bar, veggie burritos, grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and garden-fresh salads and wraps.

In the exclusive luxury suites you'll find spicy tuna and California crab sushi rolls; Italian-influenced antipasto spedini skewers; fried artichokes stuffed with feta cheese; salsiccia from The Hill (an Italian neighborhood); pizza with spinach and artichokes; and turkey-BLT sliders and patty melts on rye.

Casino Queen Party Porch Grill: Hot dogs, brats, burgers, fries, hot wing bites, toasted ravioli, nachos, nachos supreme, pretzels, pizza, assorted snacks and beverages

U.S. Cellular Family Pavilion Cafe: Hot dogs, brats, nachos, pretzels, cookies, frozen Coca-Cola, kid's meal, assorted snacks and beverages

Dear Cardinals Fans, write in and tell us what You ate at the game.

Eating away the innings in baseball's cheap seats, by USAToday

USAToday, a newspaper I generally only read when I stay in a hotel, did a piece on all-you-can-eat seats in MLB parks. You know what I think - people need to exercise self-control; need to be responsible for themselves. If AYCE disgusts you, sit somewhere else.

Baseball and gluttony, two of America's favorite pastimes, are merging in a controversial trend taking hold at Major League Baseball stadiums across the nation: all-you-can-eat seats.

Fans in these diet-busting sections, for a fixed price usually ranging from $30 to $55, are able to gorge on as many hot dogs, nachos, peanuts and soft drinks as they can stomach. Some teams charge extra for beer, desserts and candy.

here's a little more...

"What's the old saying? A hot dog at the ballpark is better than a steak at the Ritz," says Dodgers chief marketing officer Charles Steinberg, who won't discuss the precise impact the all-you-can-eat seats have had on team revenue.

Among the clubs with all-you-can-eat seats for the first time this year: the Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks. Besides the Dodgers, Rangers and Royals, those offering them for at least part of last season were the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles.

And here's the link to the full story.

A couple of former Memphis Redbirds (triple-A Cardinals) will join a pair of top prospects this Sunday at Cardinals Caravan at AutoZone Park.

Former Redbirds pitchers Anthony Reyes and Brad Thompson will be back in Memphis for the event with two highly regarded prospects: catcher Bryan Anderson and reliever Chris Perez. Cardinals announcer Al Hrabosky and former Redbird Alan Benes will also join the caravan.

The festivities - which are free and include hot dogs, nachos, peanuts, popcorn and soft drinks - will begin at 6p on the Cellular South Club Level of AutoZone Park. You don't need a ticket; just walk right in. For more information call (901) 721-6050 or visit memphisredbirds.com.

Get Your Sliced Bread in Palm Beach

Fsllogo04

Part of the Palm Beach Cardinals (Advanced-A) Wackier Than Normal Wednesdays, August 15th will be Best Thing Since Sliced Bread Night (also known as Best Thing Before Sliced Bread Night, which may or may not be a typo). The bread slicer, they tell me, was invented in 1928. The Cardinals plan to salute old, great  inventions And give everyone a slice of bread.

This is the greatest. Will they be passing out bread like flyers to fans entering Roger Dean Stadium? What will fans do with their bread? By the way, the Cardinals play the Vero Beach Devil Days (last place in the Florida State League) that night at 7:05.

I will investigate more....the reason I posted this info so early is because tomorrow (Aug 1) is My Two Cents Night, a night for everyone to let their opinion be known. Each fan will get two pennies when they enter the stadium, and will be polled on issues of the day. I don't totally understand how this will work but it sounds cool. This night the Cardinals play the Daytona Cubs at 7:05.
