Fresh Roasted Peanuts - new concession at your ballpark?

Yfrpnuts

I noticed these Fresh Roasted Peanuts the other day at Yankee Stadium. I believe you can also get them at Nationals Ballpark...and maybe everywhere Centerplate has a presence?

I have yet to try them, however, because when I was walking around in search of a snack (earlier in the game), the peanut concession was empty, save a few sternos over which the vendor said she would later be "roasting" the nuts. Hmm.

Who can tell me something about these Fresh Roasted Peanuts?

Yankee Stadium's Best Food: Mike's Deli

Ymdelimball TFMJ and I used to disagree: I liked Mike's Deli better and he preferred Carl's Steaks.Ymdelimenu Today, however, we are in agreement: Mike's Deli is Yankee Stadium's Best Food.
Which doesn't mean we're never having a cheesesteak again (we were, in fact, planning to have one as our secondYcarls opening day stadium eat) but it does mean that today's Meatball Parm Hero from Mike's (which didn't look that great) was fantastically delicious (and I had to rip it in half with my hands - two strikes against it).

Since mostly everyone was waiting out the delay indoors, the concessions areas were packed. Smart move, Centerplate and Yankees - an extra day of income. So what did You eat at Yankees Faux Opening Day?

Raley Field Food Rules and Info

Here's some food information for Raley Field, home of the 2007 Pacific Coast League and Triple-A Champion Sacramento RiverCats (triple-A A's):

Pacific Coast League Rules state that guests are not allowed to bring any outside food items into Raley Field. Fans will be allowed to bring in peanuts and/or sunflower seeds only. No Exceptions.

The Sacramento River Cats Food Service Partner, Centerplate Corporation, manages several fixed and portable concession stands at Raley Field. These stands feature traditional ballpark favorites such as hot dogs, peanuts, soda and popcorn. In addition to these favorites, there are specialty items such as grilled vegetarian sandwiches, a variety of Mexican food, pizza, and barbeque specialties. Raley Field also features a varied selection of local micro-brew, import and domestic beer and other alcohol beverages, which may be purchased until the first pitch of the 8th inning. Non-alcohol beverages include a variety of Coca-Cola products, Dasani water, fresh-squeezed lemonade and other refreshing drinks.

In-seat food and beverage service is offered to all Founders Club and Solon Club ticket holders at all River Cats home games. Our servers will take and deliver orders so you will not miss any action on the field. Servers cannot provide service to anyone other than Club seat ticket holders.

Nationals Ballpark Local Vendors

The Washington Nationals will have 11 local food service vendors in their new park.

"The Nationals and Centerplate, our overall food and beverage partner, are committed to celebrating the culture and cuisine of the Washington, D.C. region in the ballpark," said Team President Stan Kasten (in a press release).

The following local vendors will have specialty stands/carts throughout the concourses and various fan entertainment areas at Nationals Park: Ben's Chili Bowl, Boardwalk Fries (what boardwalk do they have in DC? something by the Patomic?), Cantina Marina, Gifford's Ice Cream, Krazee Ice, Kosher Sports, Hard Times Café, La Piccola Gelateria, Mayorga Coffee, Noah's Pretzels, and Red Hot and Blue.

Ben's Chili Bowl has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike since opening its doors in 1958. Guests will be treated to Ben's Original Half Smoke, Vegetarian Chili, Turkey Burger, and Chili Dog.

Opened in 1938, Gifford's Ice Cream & Candy Co. is the oldest and most distinguished ice cream parlor in Washington, DC. Gifford's stands will feature scooped ice cream, in addition to the "Dinger", a vanilla ice cream and chocolate cookie sandwich. A portion of the sale of each sandwich, also offered at all Gifford's locations, will be donated to the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation.

A favorite at RFK Stadium for the past two years, Red Hot & Blue will offer fans its esteemed barbeque items, including beef, brisket, pulled chicken and pork with a variety of sauces and side offerings.

here's the full press release.

Single game tickets for the Nationals 2008 season go on sale March 4th at 9a. The Nats the first 2008 game (exhibition, btw) is v the Orioles on Saturday, March 29th at 6p. The regular season starts March 30th v the Braves at 8:05p.
