ThePatsFan says, Po Boys are just sandwiches on bad bread. He's right, even if he is a Patriots fan. We ate them from one end of Louisiana to the other; we know. And muffaletta isn't much more impressive. We like the olive spread but we also like bread that's not day-old (yes, we're talking to you, Central Grocery). So we were pretty down on Pelican State sandies until we got to Cochon. Heaven!
At first we thought it was because we were in a city, where all things are often better. It took a few days of eating around New Orleans to fully appreciate how special Cochon Butcher is. And that is why Scoreboard Gourmet wholeheartedly recommends stopping in to eat before a Hornets or Saints game, or picking up something (pulled pork, Cuban, their insane boudin) to take into The Arena or SuperDome. You will not be disappointed, but you will wait on line.
