Tailgating in Style: luxury RV, private chef, premiere sports events

Insidetent

Tenttrailer_2

I knew there was some exciting stuff going on inside the RV's at Daytona. Here's something I just learned: any/all luxury coach owners can become members of the Featherlite VIP Club (even if your make is not Featherlite).

Why is that cool? Because Featherlite hosts various events for the members - including NASCAR, Kentucky Derby, and U.S. Open Golf rallies - and we're not talking day-old burgers in a steamer. VIP Club membership is Free; there are fees to attend the organized events. Contact the Featherlite VIP Club: 888-826-8273 or vipclub@fthrc.com.

Here's an example of the pampering: Private Chef Caterer Chef Albrich provides several days worth of meals for the VIP Club at the Daytona 500 (and at Homestead). Everything - shrimp, crab, sushi, filet of pork, filet of beef, fish, truffle mashed potatoes, mango and guava cheesecakes - is made on premise. As the Chef Albrich people say, this is tailgating at its finest.

Specializing in events such as multi-day motor sports races, bike rallies and golf tournaments, Miami-based Chef Albrich knows how to serve up VIP fare. Want to know more? Contact: marketing@chefalbrich.com or 305-817-2955.

what do You call a bulimic jockey?

Hopefuly you're not eating while you're reading this post.

Did anyone catch that Real Sports bit about Bulimic Jockeys? That was sick. The special bathroom stall for purging? Nasty.

If you're too big to be a jockey, for the love of all things holy (and yourself), get a damn different job.
And here's another thought: Women. We're generally smaller and some of us (not me) are strong enough to hold on to speeding 1200-pound horses.
Can those starving men say that? Forget about guiding a horse. how can they hold up their own heads?

If you're only allowing yourself to properly digest one meal a week, you are not an athlete, you are an idiot.

I cudda been a contenda...

because someone (TFMJ) told me there was no off track betting in Florida, guess what I did not do? I did not bet on the 4-horse. And I always bet on the 4-horse. Always. 4-horse. So you can imagine my reaction this evening when I caught a re-cap of the Preakness (a wedding caused me to miss the live race). While I was snacking on mini bruchetta with mozarella, and mini steak on garlic toast, and coconut shrimp with horseradish mango(?) sauce, and selzter and pinot grigio, Robby Albarado, who three races ago was thrown from his mount, was riding the 4-horse (Curlin) to victory. And that is why I took this awesome photo from the Baltimore Sun. Dear Baltimore Sun, I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a photo today. Wow, two unoriginal statements in one post. That's what happens after midnight after much sun.

without the picture, this post makes no sense

Derby + Cinco de Mayo = SG Jackpot

today is one of my favorite days on the sports calendar; the first leg of the triple crown, more exciting because it's also cinco de mayo which means guacamole with that bourbon. Before I remembered the Mexican holiday I was considering trying an OTB restaurant (3 in NYC), but it will be another day. OTB's open at 11:45am.
