Dunkin' Donuts Milky Way Hot Chocolate, and Hockey, and Football

Ddlogo Have You seen that excellent Dunkin' Donuts commercial: Freezing at Pee Wee Hockey? What's excellent about it, I guess, is the song. Or maybe it's the absence of Rachel Ray. Either way, the idea is, while you're siiting and watching (and playing) pee wee hockey you get cold, can't feel your hands, and need some Milky Way Hot Chocolate to warm up.

A small (that's 10oz) Dunkin' Donuts Milky Way Hot Chocolate is 200 calories (60 of them from fat) and contains the following ingredients: Water, Milky Way Hot Chocolate Powder (Sugar, Non Dairy Creamer (contains partially hydrogenated coconut oil, corn syrup solids, sodium caseinate (a milk derivative), dipotassium phosphate, sugar, mono- and diglycerides, sodium silicoaluminate, sodium stearoyl lactylate, soy lecithin, artificial flavors, and artificial color (annatto and turmeric)), Cocoa Powder (processed with alkali), Nonfat Dry Milk, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Confectionery Flake (contains sugar, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa, chocolate liquor, cocoa processed with alkali, and soy lecithin), Sodium Citrate, Molasses, Salt, Cellulose Gum, Caramel Color, and Silicone Dioxide).

Why am I telling you this today? Because Dunkin' Donuts, that crazy sports drink company, sponsors the Giants (and the Patriots, and the Eagles, and the Jets). I know the Giants are playing in balmy Dallas - and that even if they were at the Meadowlands it's not too cold here - but I assure you it's nice to have a hot coffee (or chocolate) at a cold football game...but maybe Milky Way isn't manly enough for the NFL?
ha, like those fat NFL fans are anti-candy. that's funny.

where to watch NY Teams in Foggy Bottom, and eat and drink too

51st Street Tavern, a restaurant/bar with 6 TV's, is the place in Foggy Bottom to watch NY teams compete. I'm talking Giants, Jets, Bills, Yankees, and Mets. It's recommended to call ahead and confirm the showing of your game.

The Giants are in London(!) today; they play the Dolphins at 1pm. First NFL game outside of North America.
And the Bills are at the Meadowlands v the Jets at 4:15pm.

Jets Tailgating Policies - don't you throw that ball in this lot!

  • Tailgating has become a ritual at the Stadium and is permitted provided guests tailgate in the same space occupied by their vehicle. Please be courteous to your fellow fans -- open parking spaces should not be used for tailgating.
  • Ticket Holders may not reserve adjacent parking spaces for others.
  • Tailgating is not permitted in the parking garage which is located next to Continental Airlines Arena.
  • If you have a large tailgate party, stadium management strongly encourages you to arrive early and use the grass berms and paved areas on the islands located between the parking lots. This will allow you to fully enjoy your party while being courteous to your fellow fans.
  • Grills are permitted for tailgating enjoyment, provided guests do so only in the same space occupied by their vehicle. However, their use near buildings or in areas where guests or property may be damaged is strictly prohibited.
  • Please do not discard hot coals near vehicles or in plastic waste receptacles; there have been several car and trash fires over the past few years. For your safety and convenience, hot coal bins have been provided for the disposal of charcoal. These large, orange “hot charcoal” bins are located on the islands/plazas between the parking lots. PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD TRASH IN THE HOT COAL BINS OR HOT COAL ASHES IN THE TRASH CONTAINERS.
  • Open fires are not permitted
  • Trash receptacles are located throughout the Sports Complex parking lots and near the Stadium entrances. Please bag and dispose of your trash to make it safer for vehicles exiting the Sports Complex after the game.
  • Outside  catering companies are not permitted on the Sports Complex. ARAMARK is the official food service provider/caterer for the Meadowlands Sports Complex. To schedule a catered event, please contact ARAMARK at (201) 935-5660.
  • Ball playing in the Stadium parking lots and roadways is a safety hazard and is not permitted. Many injuries occur as a result of these activities.

I have to guess these are the same rule for the Giants, no?
The Jets play the Giants on 10/7 at 1pm. it's considered a Giants Home game. not sure why.
