Domino's and Michigan

Legendary Michigan coach Bo Schembechler (who passed away last year) was all about blocking and tackling (the fundamentals); he hated trick plays.

It's no news that one of his former players (who was part of 3 Big Ten Championship teams) is now CEO of Domino's. In case it is news to you - that player is David Brandon, who takes the lessons he learned from his coach and applies them to his business strategy. blah blah blah.

here's something interesting: the Superbowl is the Largest Pizza Delivery Day of the Year.
but it's only November.

David Brandon says the more the weather cools and it gets dark earlier, the more people are planted in front of their tv's watching football. these couch potatoes get hungry and want a hot, Domino's pizza delivered to enjoy during the second half of the game. His prediction for the Michigan / Ohio State game? "We're going to be really busy and we like that."

#7 Ohio State (10-1, 6-1) and #21 Michigan (8-3, 6-1) play in Ann Arbor at 12pm today.

Zingerman's: a reason to root for Michigan

Personally, I'm not so upset by Michigan's upset.
I've never been to a Michigan football game, but I did have a Michigan roommate who was fond of yelling at the television, and chanting hilarious and obscene songs. This behavior did not rattle me, nor dissuade me from visiting Ann Arbor once upon a time. Unfortunately it was hockey not football season. Fortunately every sport has special chants so I feel as though I hardly missed a thing.
Another fortunately - and the reason for this post - was my stop at Zingerman's. I'll let you check out the site and create your own excitement. But I'll say this - Zingerman's rocks. I've had cheese shipped to me from there; I bought my dad the cookbook; and sometimes when I'm neutral about the opponent, it's the existence of Zingerman's that has me shouting Go Blue!

WI better than MI for Football Stadium Eats?

Someone told me that Wisconsin has better food - like sausage stuffed with cheese - than Michican. I'm talking Big Ten here, not USA.

November 10th the two schools/teams meet in Madison. Who can confirm or deny this rumor?
