Acela Club Pierogi, the worst item we sampled

You asked me...What's the worst thing to eat at Citi Field's Acela Club?
So I'm answering...Potato Pierogie with Onion Sour Cream

"It's everything that a pierogi isn't," said one of my dining companions, returning his to the share plate (icky!).

That said, they were small dough envelopes filled with mashed potato, crimped to seal the edge and then boiled or fried, served with sour cream / onions (thank you, dictionary.com), but they were not good. At all. Good would mean light and tasty. These tasted like heaviness, and starch, and oil, and onion soup mix (the sour cream).

And what's up with the menu spelling? I'm no speller but I believe the "e" comes into play when the word is plural: pie·ro·gi also pi·ro·gi  (pĭ-rō'gē)

My life is so Mets-heavy these days I think I'm going to Amazin' Tuesday tonight. Sheesh.

Hmm. Stadium not full, countdown extremely fast, some bags devoured before the national anthem. I'm no stats guy but I say, well, the whole event was rather uneventful. As a guy in front of me said, at least we got a bag of chips.

Big City Crunch to set Guinness World Record

So...here's the Potato Chip Citi Field update...on July 10th everyone entering the ballpark will be given a bag of Wise chips, specially sealed with instructions not to open until a certain time. At that time (possibly the second inning), everyone will open their chips and take a bite (make a crunch) at the same moment thereby breaking the existing world record (which is some thousand) for Most Potato Chips Crunched at the Same Time.

If you don't already have tickets and are too cheap to buy them, from now until the game, Wise will be driving around the City in an orange van, doing promos, and giving out free tickets to the game (plus other prizes). 300 free tickets in all (2 for 150 people).

Wise says there will be plenty of people (guards?) walking around Citi Field to ensure No Pre-opening of Chips. When I know more, I will tell.

Garlic Fries in Seattle, Mariners report by TFMJ

TFMJ writes in to tell us he "did not love" the Garlic Fries at Safeco Field. Seems they're "about the same" as the ones at Yankee Stadium (sad). He did, however, enjoy the brats, which came with a big pile of onions. Pictures coming.
