Yankees Pie in the Face

The other day, waiting for the dryer, I picked up a People mag at the laundromat. The cover said something about Kate Hudson trying to get ARod to elope. They're back together, I thought? Then thought, why do I know that they're apart? Why do I know anything? Yuck. Then I noticed the mag was from last fall. Now a friend tells me ARod is dating Cameron Diaz. I don't want to know that either. Yuck. What I do want to know is what's happening at Yankee Stadium. Pictured above is the new addition to the photo-history. Ah, 2009, I remember it like it was last year. 

New Food at MLB Cardinals Games, Busch Stadium

The Cardinals Home Opener is Monday April 12th, two days after Busch Stadium turns four. Happy Birthday in advance you 46,000 seat ballpark. So what's new for 2010? 

Mama Toscano’s Toasted Ravioli (a St. Louis original since 1910) - bite-size, stuffed with beef, cheese and veg, tossed with garlic olive oil, served in a brown paper bag, with parmesan and marinara.
Available at Dizzy’s Diner locations (within sections 139, 161 and 446) and section 271.

St Louis BBQ Bacon Dog - bacon-wrapped jalapeño dog served with baked beans, pickles, tobacco onions and sweet St. Louis-style barbecue sauce.
Available as part of the Redbird Club’s Sandwich Showdown - Local Food v. sandwich inspired by the opposing team. If popular, the St Louis BBQ Bacon Dog may be expanded throughout the ballpark.

Root Beer floats at Target Field

Killebrew Root Beer, both a regional brand and a product named to honor the Twins slugger, will be served at Target Field concessions and restaurants and also used to make root beer (ice cream) floats WHICH WILL BE VENDED THROUGHOUT THE BALLPARK! And made to order with single-serve Blue Bunny scoops. Awesome. Thanks to Cafe Cyan / Bite of Minnesota Crystal for letting me photograph hers (above; I'd already pounded mine).

Blue Smoke at Citi Field

Pitmaster Kenny Callaghan deserves some love. Blue Smoke will have a second Citi Field location this year - up on the Promenade Level. No Shake Shack, as rumored. Homerun Ball Korean Candy

I love it when I find things that epitomize Scoreboard Gourmet. This is candy (chocolate in a sort of cookie/pastry) I saw on my way out of a market in K-town (aka Little Korea). I guess it's the chocolate that makes it a home run.

Another Home Run Ball is A-Rod's 500th. Last month it sold for $103,579 to an anonymous bidder. That's $1.92 for every person who was at the game. At Yankee Stadium you can get almost half a bottle of water for that price.

Lu biscuits at US Open

Too bad the chocolate was milk, not dark, but still enjoyable cookies, especially with my homemade tea. SG likes this type of sponsor giveaway, much better than the unfoldable fans, even if it takes more than a week to get the picture through. Nice timing, Verizon. Btw, the fans and the cookies were distributed on different days. Quarterfinals for cookies. Earlier round for fans. Interpret that as you wish.

Acela Club Dessert Menu

Since I know people are flocking to Citi Field, I figured you'd want to know about the dessert menu in the Acela Club. Each one is $8:

Chocolate Covered Strawberries at Safeco Field

If you see Chocolate Covered Strawberries, even if it's not dark chocolate, and as long as its not winter, grab them. TFMJ tells us they walk around Mariners games with these skewers like passed hors d'eouvres. How cool is that? Very.
