On this Off Day of Twins Home Outdoor Baseball (Game 2 tmrw 12:10pm), there are a number of people (small) to thank in regards to getting ScoreboardGourmet out to Minneapolis but no one more than Delaware North Sportservice, the primary sponsor of the trip.

Thank You Thank You to everyone involved, especially Rick Abramson, a true Scoreboard Gourmet who began his food+sports career as a vendor at Milwaukee County Stadium, home of the Braves then Brewers until 2000. Hey, that's how I started too! No wonder I think he's a great guy, with great ideas, at the head of a great concessionaire. (Note:You may recall I was saying these nice things well before mini sponsorship took place; SG cannot be bought, but she can use financial help).

Arnold Palmer Makes an Arnold Palmer in excellent ESPN commercial

Watch the Twins in the first game in their new ballpark today on ESPN. I love that this counts as Golf coverage for me. Think my last Golf coverage was also about iced tea+lemonade. I probably shouldn't have that category. Here's some actual Golf coverage - isn't there enough money in Golf to spray some self-tan on Phil Mickelson's forehead before the Green Jacket ceremony? Kind of a big moment for such a major distraction.

MLB Ballparks Opening Dates

In honor of the Twins new ballpark - Target Field (pictured above and in a lovely album in the middle column) - officially opening tomrrow, Monday April 12th, 2010 when the team takes on the Red Sox at 3:10pm, here's a list of all 30 MLB Ballparks and the year they opened.

What I've noticed in the past couple weeks (and years) is that Twins fans are not as interested in information about their new ballpark as, say, Mets and Yankees fans are interested in CitiField and New Yankee Stadium I don't know why that is. Minneapolis is a little city. They have internet there. I'm going to ask Lipgloss&Baseball Jen what she thinks. She's a Minneapolis lifer. And she's smart.
